In the end, the official coaster was named Top Thrill 2 and given a racing theme. However, we wanted to propose what it could have been. If we were to make any changes to the real ride, we would change the name to Polaris and give it a theme of a magnetic propulsion formula for race cars. The name Polaris refers to the magnets' poles. The forward and backward launches would simulate the reversal of magnetic poles to achieve rapid acceleration. The top hat would be the north pole, like the North Star Polaris, and the spike would be the south pole. Sound effects and onboard audio would play as the coaster raced past. The seats could also have forward- and backward-facing options, as well as an extended layout with airtime on both the launch and brake run. We would have also added a twist or airtime bank on the spike.
